This mobile-first application provides the user with an interactive world map, displaying various Country information. The user is able to either click/tap on a country or select one from the dropdown menu. Upon doing so, there are several buttons on the left that will each display information such as News updates, live Weather forecasts, Currency conversion rates and even upcoming flight departures. The primary library used was Leaflet.js (https://leafletjs.com/) which is an open-source system allowing for mobile-friendly interactive maps.

The objective of this project was to utilise multiple third party APIs to retrieve the data displayed on the map. This project also features custom layers such as capital cities, airports, populated cities and country borders. To further enhance the maps appearance, several different views were deployed, including satellite, street, terrain and a dark mode.

A Company Directory that allows users to search, edit, view, and delete employees, departments and locations.

The database provided, contained a dependancy structure of Personnel -> Department -> Location. As a result, the user is alerted and prevented from deleting any records that contained dependancies. Utilising secure embedded PHP AJAX prepared statements, the integrity of the database is always maintained and kept free from security risks.

Building upon the existing framework of my Gazetteer application, a friend was traveling to Amsterdam on holiday and mentioned that they would benefit from a travel guide to help with activities, restaurants and general directions. I offered to build them a web based application that could store all the things they wanted to see/do whilst on holiday and thus the Amsterdam Travel Guide was born.

Using a mixture of APIs, JSON files and the Leaflet.js library, I modified my existing Gazetteer application to create a handy travel guide for them. The feedback I received was that my application was thoroughly used and practically relied upon to help ensure they managed to do as much as they could whilst there.

And if you couldn't tell... they love Pugs!!!
